Orthopedic Shoulder Abduction​ Brace

Indications

(1) Humeral surgical neck fracture: The bone at the humeral surgical neck is relatively fragile and prone to fractures under the action of violence. The shoulder abduction orthosis can fix the fractured part and promote healing.
(2) Scapular fracture: It is mostly caused by direct violence. The shoulder abduction orthosis helps maintain the relative position of the scapula, creating a stable environment for fracture healing.
(3) Anterior dislocation of the shoulder joint: It commonly occurs when the shoulder is overly abducted and externally rotated by external force during sports. After reduction, using the shoulder abduction orthosis can prevent recurrence of dislocation.
(4) Posterior dislocation of the shoulder joint: It is relatively rare and is caused by backward violence. After reduction, it needs to be fixed with a shoulder abduction orthosis.
(5) Shoulder joint subluxation: It is more common in hemiplegic patients. The shoulder abduction orthosis can provide support, reduce the occurrence probability of subluxation, and prevent shoulder pain and injury.
(6) Rotator cuff injury: It is common among middle-aged and elderly people and those who engage in overhead sports with the upper limbs. The shoulder abduction orthosis can relieve the pressure on the rotator cuff and promote the repair of the injury.
(7) Ligament injury around the shoulder joint: External force can cause ligament injuries around the shoulder joint. The shoulder abduction orthosis restricts the movement of the shoulder joint, which is beneficial for ligament repair.
(8) Brachial plexus injury: It is caused by trauma or diseases. The shoulder abduction orthosis can maintain the normal position of the shoulder, prevent contracture and deformity of the shoulder joint, and promote nerve recovery and improvement of upper limb function.
(9) Axillary nerve injury: It is mostly caused by shoulder trauma. After injury, sensory impairment on the lateral side of the shoulder and atrophy of the deltoid muscle may occur. The shoulder abduction orthosis is helpful for rehabilitation.
